Welcome to Sunshine State Speech :)

Welcome to my blog! This blog is geared towards SLP's in the school setting, new SLP grad's, and SLP grad students. I decided to blog this year to share my journey as a CF and to provide guidance to future SLPs based on my personal experiences in grad school. Currently, I am sitting here on the couch with a cup of coffee soaking in every last second left of summer break!! Here's to my first day of work tomorrow as an SLP (YIKES)!

For those of you that don't know me, I am a speech-language pathologist at a public elementary school in Broward County. Most of the children I work with  are on the Autism Spectrum. I also do home health therapy on the side, but the majority of my experience is in the school setting. For the last 4 years, I worked as an ESE teacher while going to grad school. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Exceptional Student Education. From there, I received my Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2017 at Nova Southeastern University.

Can't wait to see what this year has in store!!
